Media Response 10 March 2016
South Perth Station Precinct
Journalist background: Regarding proposed 38 Storey Mixed Development on Lots 2 (86), 15 (88) and 16 (90) Mill Point Road, South Perth at Special Council Meeting on 8 March 2016.

Please attribute the following comments to City of South Perth CEO Geoff Glass:

Did council knock the plans back? If so, what was the council's reason?

The decision regarding the development at 86 – 90 Mill Point Road, South Perth will be made by the Metro Central Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP), not by the City of South Perth.

The City of South Perth’s role is to provide a planning assessment report to the JDAP, prepared by City officers, which it has done.  The officer’s report recommended refusal and the Council noted that recommendation at their meeting on 8 March 2016.

The officer’s report which includes the reasons for recommending refusal can be found in the agenda here (starting from page 2 of 321).

The JDAP will make its determination on this development on Monday 14 March 2016. The minutes of the meeting will later be available from Metro Central JDAP website.

If it did approve it, what was the council's reason?
Not applicable.
