Expression of Interest - Millers Pool Public Art

The City of South Perth is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from individuals, in particular, the Nyoongar community for the commission of public art at Millers Pool, South Perth.

Artists are encouraged to look for both 2D and 3D artwork placements in proposing an artwork for the site. Most importantly, they are asked to consider the story, or concept they would like to share.

The artwork is a key recommendation from the City of South Perth Foreshore Plan - Node 5 Mill Point to tell the "stories of the place" through artwork. 

Artwork opportunities are: 

Integrated decorative element for storytelling (laser cut panel, toughened glass inserts or similar) along the boardwalk and/or the jetty. 

Sculptural artworks on the roosting posts in the pool itself. 

Functional artwork in the form of listening posts in and near to the meeting place. 

Large sculptural artwork to the northern side of the pool. 

The total budget for the artworks is $34,000 + GST. Up to three shortlisted artists will be paid $1500 + GST for their concept design presentations.
