Manning Community Hub Place Making

Media Release 24 February 2015
Manning Community Hub

The Manning Community Hub will soon be delivered by the City of South Perth. This long awaited $14 million project aims to create a new ‘heart’ for the Manning community with a vibrant, connected and attractive precinct integrating community, sporting and social activities.

Following the awarding of the tender, construction is anticipated to start in May 2015. The facility will include the relocated Manning Library, a community hall, Manning Child Health Clinic, Moorditj Keila Aboriginal Group, a sporting clubroom to house the Manning Rippers Football Club and an early years’ centre that will become the homes of both the Manning Toy Library and a new Manning Playgroup.

The centre of the Manning Community Hub precinct will feature a large outdoor public space.

The City is inviting interested members of the community to come along and be involved in a series of interactive sessions to ascertain how they would like to see the area feel, look and potentially be used:

Wednesday 11 March 2015, 5.45-7.30pm
Manning Senior Citizens Centre, 3 Ley St, Manning

Community place making pop-ups
Saturday 14 March 2015, 10am-2pm (includes kids art activity) or

For those unable to participate in either session, you can complete the online survey.

City of South Perth Mayor Sue Doherty said, “The City is currently seeking input from community members and those with an interest in the Manning Hub to ensure the space is transformed into a well-used area that people come to love because it is so special – they have been part of it from conception to delivery.”
