What information has the City sought in regards to options to the land so far? What have the options been? Why is it taking this long to make a decision?
The land on which the hostel is situated is vested in the City for the purpose of Aged Persons Home. This land tenure restricts the options that can be considered and this has extended the time frame.
How much money did the City save last and this year from the closure? Where has this extra money been allocated?
Closure of the hostel has eliminated ongoing deficits that were being experienced due to the operation of the hostel. There are therefore no surplus funds to reallocate.
