Canning Bridge Structure Plan - Community Briefing
The City of South Perth, City of Melville and the Departments for Planning and Transport would like to invite all interested stakeholders to a Community Briefing Session on the development of the Canning Bridge Structure Plan.
In July 2011, the Minister for Planning released the Canning Bridge Precinct Vision. This vision was developed through consultation with both the Melville and South Perth communities and key agency stakeholders over a period of three years.
The development of the Canning Bridge Structure Plan will involve testing and refining of the Precinct Vision in response to detailed, technical studies in transport, urban design, infrastructure and services capacity, environment, and heritage.
The objective of the Structure Plan is to create a unique, vibrant and creative community centre with a mix of residential, office, retail, recreational and cultural uses.
This Community Briefing Session is the first in a series of consultation activities which aim to keep you informed and involved throughout the development of the Structure Plan.
The Community Briefing Session will include:
Information about the process for developing a structure plan;
Opportunity to meet members of the Project Team; and
Briefings from the team about the technical studies that will be undertaken. These briefings will include; transport, urban design, economic development and environmental and heritage.
There will also be opportunities to participate in the development of the Structure Plan including a series of workshops on specific elements of the plan such as Transport, Built Form and Amenity.
Please advise when you call the City if you would like to be involved in these workshops, which will commence Wednesday, 26 September 2012.
