Old Mill Restoration Donation

Mayor John Collins said the City could only comment on the Old Mill proposal that had been received, once the matter had been considered by the Council at the August Ordinary Council Meeting.

“While receiving a generous donation for the restoration of one the City’s oldest historical
landmarks, the Old Mill, is exciting - it is premature for the City to comment,” he said.

“This is because the full extent of the conditions that apply to such a donation are unknown and, therefore, have not been considered by the Council as of yet.

“It is of interest that a proposal of this kind has been made following a similar proposal being withdrawn due to adverse community feedback.”
