Your Mayor and Councillors

The City of South Perth covers an area of around 19.9km² divided into four wards. Each ward is represented by two councillors and presided over by a popularly elected mayor. 

Councillors are elected for four-year terms with council elections held every two years on the third Saturday in October, for half of the council members.

City of South Perth Mayor

Greg Milner

Term of office ends: 2027

Greg Milner

Elected Mayor in 2019 after serving as a councillor for two years, Mayor Milner is committed to helping provide sound financial management and cost-effective services for the residents and ratepayers of the City of South Perth. He has proudly called the City home since 2005. 

Married with two young children, Mayor Milner holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Distinction) and Bachelor of Commerce from UWA. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (Company Director Course) and the Emerging Leaders in Governance Program. Mayor Milner also serves the community on the board of Amaroo Village and is a Friend of the Rotary Club of Como.

Prior to his election to Council, Mayor Milner practised as a commercial and property solicitor in private practice for more than 13 years. 

Mayor Milner has a special interest in aged care issues and has worked with a number of aged care organisations as a solicitor, as a board member and as a volunteer.

Glenn Cridland

Term of office ends: 2025

Glenn Cridland

First elected in 2009, Cr Cridland has lived in the City of South Perth since 1999.

A barrister practising primarily in coronial matters and environmental, administrative and criminal law, Cr Cridland is passionate about our beautiful natural environment and values the role of local schools, sporting clubs and community groups in making South Perth a wonderful place to live.

Bronwyn Waugh

Bronwyn Waugh

DEPUTY MAYOR

Elected in 2023, Cr Waugh lives, works and is raising her young family all within the beautiful City of South Perth.

She has a Bachelor of Business, a Juris Doctor and a strong commitment to her community where she strives to make a positive impact on the lives of the residents she serves.

Known for her approachable and empathetic nature, she believes in fostering open and transparent communication, ensuring that the voice of the community is heard and valued. With a strong focus on collaboration and consensus-building, she looks to find innovative solutions to the issues that matter to the residents of the City of South Perth.

In her capacity as a director of both a legal practice and a town planning firm based in South Perth, Cr Waugh also has a close connection to the business community and is committed to promoting sustainable and inclusive development. She advocates for responsible urban planning, provision of community facilities, and ensuring that the city's growth is balanced with the preservation of its natural beauty and heritage.

Manning ward

Blake D'Souza

Term of office ends: 2025

Blake D'Souza

First elected in 2017 aged 21, Cr D’Souza is the youngest elected member in the City’s history. 

A Waterford resident, he graduated from Trinity College and was offered a scholarship to Curtin University, from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). His selection for the National Student Leadership Forum in Canberra and graduation from the John Curtin Leadership Academy motivated him to stand for Council and make a difference in his community.

As an energetic local advocate, Cr D’Souza hopes to bring a fresh and youthful perspective to the Council and foster a sense of consultation and inclusivity amongst all residents in the City. 

André Brender-A-Brandis

André Brender-A-Brandis

Elected in 2019, Cr Brender-A-Brandis has lived in the City of South Perth since 1999.

Cr Brender-A-Brandis is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), holding a Bachelor of Business (minor in Public Accounting) and is committed to ensuring financial integrity and transparency to deliver balanced budgets with the best possible outcomes for ratepayers.

He currently holds a senior State Government finance position and has formerly had finance and leadership positions with ASX public listed companies, government, accounting practices. He is formerly the Finance Manager for the City of South Perth. 

Cr Brender-A-Brandis is actively involved in facilitating ICA finance workshops. He has served Communities for over 20 years including the following; honorary Treasurer and Director for RSPCA and Free the Bears Boards, volunteer for Youth Focus and counselling telephone helplines.

Moresby ward

Jennifer Nevard

Term of office ends: 2025

Jennifer Nevard

Elected in 2021, Cr Nevard is keen to keep parklands for: community activities, flexible use and for health, fitness and celebration. She will work for improved safety for our neighbourhoods and is keen to foster initiatives strengthening community connectedness.

Her professional experience involved policy development and oversight, planning, governance, outcome measurement and quality control. She holds a Doctor of Education qualification and also completed graduate studies in Information Science.

Hayley Prendiville

Term of office ends: 2027

Hayley Prendiville

Elected in 2023, Cr Prendiville has resided in the City of South Perth since 2002 and is currently raising a young family in Kensington.

She is passionate about balancing the preservation of South Perth's beautiful environment while also ensuring the people in our community have the facilities they need to flourish. Other areas of importance to Cr Prendiville are community safety and supporting local groups and clubs.

A background in design, residential construction, branding and communications and extended experience volunteering with sporting clubs enables her to understand the needs of families in the area bringing a wealth of knowledge and a passion for our community.

She is committed to listening to the community, being open to discussion and representing the complex and changing needs of the Moresby community.

Mill Point ward

Mary Choy

Term of office ends: 2025

Mary Choy

First elected in 2019, Cr Choy holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and is a registered legal practitioner, nationally accredited mediator and family dispute resolution practitioner with experience in both public and private practice, a small business owner, busy parent and active community member. 

Cr Choy has been a South Perth resident since 2004 and is passionate about safeguarding the beautiful and diverse South Perth landscape and increasing the sense of community in the City.

Nic Coveney

Term of office ends: 2027

Nic Coveney

Elected in 2023, Cr Coveney has resided in the Mill Point Ward for much of his adult life.

Cr Coveney is a practicing family lawyer specialising in complex financial disputes. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws, and Master of Laws. He has served on numerous representative bodies throughout his life.

He is particularly passionate about making the City of South Perth the best place to live, work and play, for the young, the old and the in between. For him, this means improving transport options, activating entertainment precincts, community safety, supporting local clubs, and strong financial management.
