Curious about where you come from?
Join the South Perth Historical Society for a practical workshop that will help you begin (or deepen) your journey into family history research.
In this engaging session, local researcher Anthea Harris will show you that family history is about far more than names and dates. Thanks to the many television programs today, more and more people are asking not only who their ancestors were, but why they made the decisions that shaped future generations.
Exploring your story can be fascinating, surprising — and sometimes emotional. This practical workshop will give you the tools and confidence to start connecting the dots of your own past.
What you'll learn:
How to start with the basics — gathering names, dates and key family details
How to navigate online databases, historical records and archives available through South Perth libraries
Learn from real examples, including Anthea’s research into the origins of the suburb name Como, with time for your questions
Don’t miss out—start connecting the dots of your own history and see where the journey leads you!
