Discover great reads, share your thoughts, and meet other booklovers at our monthly YA Book Club.
Never been to a book club before? No stress! This is a low-key meetup where everyone is welcome. You can join one meetup or multiple – it's up to you.
Who: For ages 15–18.
When: Starting in March, 5.30–6.30pm on the last Tuesday of each month.
Where: South Perth Library
Conversation led by local YA author Karleah Olson.
How book club works
- Become a library member (join online for free).
- Book your spot for each book club meetup. Can be once-off or join every meetup!
- Choose to borrow a physical book or eBook from the library or read your own copy.
- If you choose to borrow a book from the library, you’ll get more information on how to get your loan after booking.
About Karleah Olson
Karleah Olson is our book club facilitator and will guide you as you chat about the book. She is a Perth-based writer and avid reader, and loves to collect books – more than she could possibly read in a lifetime. Karleah has spent the last few years as a PhD candidate at Edith Cowan University, where she is studying Australian Coastal Gothic Literature. Her debut novel, A Wreck of Seabirds, was shortlisted for the 2023 Fogarty Literary Award and is a work of YA fiction inspired by the gothic genre and the West Australian coastal landscape.
