Boost your home security and claim a rebate before EOFY

News Update 2 April 2026

Take advantage of the City’s Home Safety and Security Equipment Rebate Program before the end of the financial year.

The program helps eligible households improve safety at home, with rebates available for the purchase and installation of security equipment such as video doorbells, alarms, deadlocks, window locks, security doors, window security screens, sensor lights and CCTV.

Eligible applicants can receive:

  • Up to $300 for concession card holders (18+)

  • Up to $250 for non-concession card holders (18+)

The City’s rebate complements the WA Government Safety and Security Rebate Program, which offers up to $400 for WA Seniors Card holders as a once off payment. Details can be found at WA,gov.au

This rebate applies to new safety and security equipment only. Fire extinguishers, fire alarms and non-equipment purchases such as fences or ongoing subscription services are not eligible.

With 30 June approaching, now is the time to install eligible equipment and submit your online application. Once the allocated budget has been fully expended, no further payments will be made for the remainder of the financial year, and applications cannot be carried forward into the subsequent financial year. Acting promptly helps ensure you don’t miss out on available funding.

Residents needing help with their application can contact the City’s Community Safety Officer on 9474 0777 or email communitysafety@southperth.wa.gov.au
