Community funding boost for local urban greening projects

News Update 27 October 2025
Nominations are now open for local groups to bring urban greening projects to life, thanks to the State Government.

A total of $60,000 in election commitment funding is available, with groups able to apply for up to $20,000 each. Eligible applicants include incorporated community associations or unincorporated not-for-profit groups, with projects set to be delivered within the City during 2025/26.

Projects that could be supported include:

  • Environmental community education programs
  • Environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Community tree planting projects
  • Minor capital works and equipment for urban greening
Applications will be assessed by the City, on behalf of State Government, as they are received, and funding will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the $60,000 pool is fully allocated, no further projects can be supported under this program.
