Councillor farewells and welcomes

The City of South Perth extends its thanks to outgoing Councillors Glenn Cridland and  Jennifer Nevard for their dedicated service to the community. 

Ms Nevard, elected in 2021, is retiring from her position as Councillor for the Moresby Ward. During her term, she was a passionate advocate for preserving parklands for community activities, flexible use and for health, fitness and celebration. 

Ms Nevard served on the City’s Audit, Risk and Governance Committee, CEO Evaluation Committee, Public Arts Advisory Group and as a delegate to the Western Australian Local Government Association’s South-East Metropolitan Zone committee during her tenure on Council. 

Mr Cridland, who represented the Como Ward, was first elected in 2009. 

Over his years of service, he advocated for  enhancing community safety and preserving local heritage, reserves and public open spaces. 

During his time on Council, Mr Cridland served in a range of capacities, including on the City’s Audit, Risk and Governance Committee, CEO Evaluation Committee and as a local government member on the Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel. 

On behalf of the City, Mayor Greg Milner thanked Cr Nevard and Cr Cridland for their contribution to the community. 

“We wish them both all the very best for the future and sincerely thank them both for their service to the City of South Perth,” he said. 

Congratulations to the successful candidates in the City of South Perth local government election. 

Kathy Lees was elected to the Como Ward for a four-year term. 

Councillor Blake D'Souza was returned to the Manning Ward for a four-year term. 

Tim Houweling and Jacqueline Raison were elected to the Mill Point Ward for a four-year and two-year term respectively. 

Stephen Russell was elected to the Moresby Ward for a four-year term. 

All successful candidates will be sworn in on Tuesday 21 October 2025.
