Pet registration fees waived
The City of South Perth is encouraging its residents to be responsible pet owners by waiving pet registration fees this financial year - fur real.
Pet registrations renewals are due on 31 October and this year the fee for lifetime registrations for sterilised dogs and cats has been waived. One-year registrations for unsterilised dogs are also waived to encourage owners to have them sterilised in the coming year. Charges will still apply to unsterilised dogs for three-year or lifetime registrations.
Registering your pet and ensuring they wear their registration tag on their collar helps the City to reunite lost animals with their owners. It is a requirement of the Dog Act 1976 and Cat Act 2011.
Pet owners will soon receive their completed registration renewal and registration tag via post. If you have not yet registered your pet, please visit our website to complete an online registration form.
In WA, all dogs over the age of three months must be microchipped and registered, and all cats over the age of six months must be microchipped, sterilised and registered with the local government where you reside.
