Works to begin on new footbridge at Lake Douglas in South Perth
Construction on the footbridge at Lake Douglas in South Perth is scheduled to begin on February 17 and is expected to take approximately two months to complete.
The project will see the shorter of the two existing footbridges at the lake replaced, following an assessment in November 2023 that found both bridges were structurally compromised and at risk of collapse.
The pylons will be retained for habitat and aesthetics, while the remaining structure will be demolished and replaced.
Construction on the new footbridge is due for completion by late April.
