Change to Council Meeting dates
This year, the State Government has introduced optional preferential voting for local government elections. Due to this change in process, the results of the election may not be finalised until a few days after the 21 October 2023 Ordinary Election day.
To accommodate any delay in results, the City has revised the Swearing In Ceremony and Council Meeting dates for October as follows:
- Tuesday, 24 October 2023 – Swearing in of Mayor and Councillors
- Wednesday, 25 October 2023 – Council Agenda Briefing
- Tuesday 31, October 2023 – Ordinary Council Meeting
There will be no Special Council Meeting and the election of the Deputy Mayor and the appointment of Councillors to Committees will occur at the October Ordinary Council Meeting.
