About the Philip Pendal Young Heritage Award
The PPYHA is a competition run by the City of South Perth Historical Society. The Award provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the importance of photographs as a historical record of people and places in the City of South Perth.
The PPYHA encourages excellence in historical writing and honours the work of the late Phillip Pendal, politician, historian, writer and founding president of the City of South Perth Historical Society.
The competition aims to attract the City’s students to participate in the recording and research of our heritage and has been run annually since 2010.
