Redmond Stairs update
The City is currently upgrading the stairs at Redmond Reserve in Salter Point. The project has encountered some delays due to supply chain issues and labour availability. We are anticipating works will be complete by the end of May 2022.
Thank you for your patience and we look forward to sharing this exciting project with you.
Background
A new raised stairway are being constructed at Redmond Reserve in Salter Point to improve safety and access to the riverside nature space. The stairway will replace existing timber and limestone ground level stairs that are beginning to age.
The new stairs will be wider, less steep, and raised above the vegetation, making it easier to walk through the area and enjoy views of the river and bushland. Three viewing platforms with seating will provide a place to rest and the opportunity for birdwatching. A local resident has generously provided a funding contribution towards the project.
