Australia Reads Read-a-thon

Join the City's Libraries for a Read-a-thon to celebrate the national Australia Reads campaign on Thursday 14 September.

Australia Reads is an annual national event to encourage the community to pick up a book, relax, escape, learn and experience the wonderful world of books.

We are encouraging library members, residents, local businesses and schools to get involved and take part in a day of events.

9.30am-4pm | READ-A-THON

The Reading Chair returns to both Manning and South Perth Libraries. Everyone is welcome to join the fun, pull up a chair and read silently. 

4-5.30pm | SPYWA finalist

The Reading Chair at South Perth Library will be occupied by finalists from this year’s South Perth Young Writers Award who will read their entries aloud. 

6-8pm  | Author talk

Local authors David Allan-Petale, Rebecca Higgie, David Price, Ian Reid and Josephine Taylor entertain us by reading from their own works.
