NAIDOC Week - Always Was, Always Will Be
Celebrate National NAIDOC Week with a week of free community events and activities around the City, supported by Act, Belong, Commit.
NAIDOC Week will be held from 8-15 November. The event is normally held in July, but was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s theme is Always Was, Always Will Be, recognising that the First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner said NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate and respect the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in our community.
“NAIDOC Week is an important week in the City’s cultural calendar, and I encourage our local community to join me for the City’s first event, the NAIDOC Week Flag Raising Ceremony at the South Perth Community Hall, which will be followed by a light afternoon tea,” Mayor Milner said.
