Manning Community Hub has been recognised at the 2020 National Awards for Planning Excellence.

The City’s project was nominated in the Great Place category against three other finalists. This year’s awards hosted by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) were held online due to COVID-19.

The Manning Community Hub development received three awards at the 2019 WA PIA Awards for Planning Excellence in November last year, receiving the Healthy Active by Design (sponsored by Heart Foundation), Great Place (sponsored by Urbis) and Minister’s Award.

The Manning Community Hub, a multi-million dollar project to create a new heart for Manning was completed at the end of 2016 before doors opened in February 2017.

The hub includes the relocated Manning Library, a community hall, Manning Child Health Clinic, Moorditj Keila Aboriginal Group, a sporting clubroom for Manning Rippers Football Club and an early years’ centre, home of the Manning Toy Library and Manning Playgroup association.

City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner said the City is thrilled to be nominated once again by the Planning Institute of Australia. The Manning Community Hub is a fantastic development and I would like to thank everyone involved in making this happen.

“The City also acknowledges the great work of project partners Bollig Design Group, which created the beautiful buildings for the hub and the funding contributions of Lotterywest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries,” Mayor Milner said.
