Bollard Installation at Sir James Mitchell Park

Following recommendations from the State Government to improve safety and security on the South Perth foreshore, the City of South Perth has received Federal funding for the installation of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) bollards on Sir James Mitchell Park, along Mill Point Road and adjacent to the intersection of Forrest Street and Mill Point Road.

The project includes:

  • Removal of existing wooden bollards (and relocation of some wooden bollards)
  • New HVM bollards installed in a linear pattern
  • Relocation of existing yellow-painted steel bollard further to the west
  • Reinstatement of turf.

In accordance with the 2019/20 and 2020/21 Capital Works Programs, the City’s contractor LEDA Security will commence site works on Sir James Mitchell Park the week commencing 21 September 2020*.

The project is expected to take 2-3 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Working hours will be confined to 7am-5pm or Monday to Friday.

*works were originally scheduled to commence 9 September.
