The new children’s playground at Olives Reserve in Como is open.

The upgrade to the play equipment was chosen after extensive public consultation, with the most popular design featuring rope nets, fireman’s pole, rope ladder tunnel, flying fox, double swing with toddler seat, slides, wobbly bridge, large platforms and interactive panels. Shade sails will be installed after Winter.

The children’s play area is the final part of the reserve upgrade, which also included a new footpath, replacement turf, trees, garden beds with water-wise plants, dog agility equipment, seating and water fountain.

The playground opened this week, in time for the State Government’s phase three easing of restrictions. All of the City’s playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment reopened on Saturday 6 June, under revised COVID safe conditions.
