Libraries' pick-up service recommences

Although the City’s Libraries remain temporarily closed due to Coronavirus, they have been able to resume their hold pick-up service, allowing library members to reactivate and place holds on items they wish to borrow via the Libraries’ online catalogue.

Library staff will notify members by email or phone when their items are ready to be picked-up. Members simply need to present to the library’s entrance, bring their library cards with them and collect their items from one of our staff. 

Holds will be available to collect at South Perth and Manning Libraries at:

• 9-10am, 12-1pm, 4-5pm, Monday to Friday and 11am-12.30pm Saturday

Members are encouraged to collect their holds promptly after receiving notification of availability. 

The health and wellbeing of our community is our main priority as the City works through the Coronavirus pandemic. To help limit the spread of the disease, library staff will observe hygiene methods when handling stock.

While the City’s Libraries are closed, library online services and resources are still available and operating as normal, including ebooks, audiobooks, newspapers, magazines, eLearning, research and streaming services.

As an interim measure, the City's Libraries have increased the loan limit from 40 items to 50 items per library member. Additionally, the loan period for all items will expire on 30 June 2020, with members encouraged to keep any borrowed books and other items until further notice.

If you are housebound and not able to collect items from the City's Libraries, you may be eligible for our free Home Reader Service. The service delivers books and other library items to residents unable to leave their homes. Library staff will select books based on your preferences and volunteers deliver these to your door on a monthly basis.
