Manning Hub Phase Two
The City would like to hear your thoughts on the draft concept design for Manning Hub Phase Two.
A key aspect of the design is improved pedestrian access and activation of the area. The design includes the partial demolition of the former deli building to create a laneway to the Manning Community Facility and James Miller Oval, as well as upgrades to the streetscape in and around Welwyn Avenue car park.
Key upgrades proposed:
- Partial demolition of the former deli shop to create a laneway through to the Manning Community Facility, the library and James Miller Oval, including seating, planting and small trees in pots
- Upgrades to the streetscaping in and around Welwyn Avenue car park, including a paving upgrade, new bollards, planting outside shopfronts, new bike racks, relocation of the ACROD parking bay, and planting in the mulched areas adjacent to the car park.
View the draft concept design, find out more about the project and provide your feedback at yoursay.southperth.wa.gov.au by 4pm Monday 17 February 2020.
Hard copies of the design are available at the South Perth and Manning Libraries.
There will also be two drop in sessions in front of the former deli, where residents can speak directly to project team staff and ask questions, from 10-11.30am Saturday 8 February and 3.30-5pm Wednesday 12 February.
The Manning Hub is a multi-million dollar facility that has created a new ‘heart’ for Manning by providing the community with a vibrant, connected and attractive precinct integrating community services and social activities. The facility opened its doors in February 2017 and was recently recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia, winning a ‘Healthy Active by Design’ award, ‘Great Space’ award, and the Minister’s Award.
Phase Two will further connect the area.
