Celebrate FRINGE WORLD this year at Mindeerup

Connect South

This year the City of South Perth is celebrating all things summer at Mindeerup with a free festival event.

SouthSide Summer, part of this year’s FRINGE WORLD Festival 2020, will come alive for the first time with free music, family activities and roving entertainment.

SouthSide Summer will have two distinct vibes with Acoustic Fridays and Family Fun Saturdays, running from Friday 17 January to Saturday 15 February, excluding the Australia Day weekend.

Enjoy relaxed tunes set to a stunning backdrop to finish your working week from 4-6pm on Acoustic Fridays. Grab a bite to eat or a drink in one of the many cafes or restaurants along Mends Street and the South Perth Esplanade.

Bring the kids for hours of free fun on Family Fun Saturdays from 10am-2pm, with plenty of children’s activities and entertainment.

City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner said the City hoped SouthSide Summer at the new Mindeerup area would provide the community with enjoyable, family-friendly outdoor entertainment, as well as an opportunity to support the local businesses.

“With the recent opening of the revitalised piazza at Mindeerup, SouthSide Summer offers both residents and visitors alike a great opportunity to recreate and play in one of the most beautiful locations in Western Australia - the magnificent South Perth foreshore," Mayor Milner said.

“SouthSide Summer is the perfect way to activate Mindeerup, which was a major development for the City. We hope the event attracts new visitors to enjoy a taste of what the City of South Perth has to offer. Bring your family, bring your friends – we look forward to seeing you.”
