Statement regarding South Perth StrEATS

The City is aware of ongoing community discussion via social media over the weekend relating to South Perth StrEATS. 

The occasional liquor licence previously granted to the bar operating at StrEATS was granted for a maximum period of three weeks, which has now lapsed. 

The granting of occasional liquor licences is determined by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. 

The City does not consider ongoing approval of this licence to be consistent with the spirit and intent of the Director of Liquor Licensing’s Temporary Bars Policy. 

As a result of the level of community interest, this matter will be discussed further at the Council Meeting next week for consideration and a determination as to whether we would support any further applications.
