Autumn Green Waste Verge Side Collection starts 22 April

The City’s Autumn Green Waste Verge Side Collection will take place from 22 April to 27 May 2019. To find out when your suburb’s collection will be, please refer to your Recycling & Waste Calendar, visit our website or contact us on 9474 0777.

The City will collect a maximum of three cubic metres per premise consisting of:

• Uncontaminated green/garden waste
• Tree prunings/branches with a maximum diameter of 150mm and maximum length of 1.5m.
• All material for collection should be neatly placed on the verge with cut ends toward the street.

The City will not collect:

• Lawn clippings and leaves, these may be placed in our free Green Waste recycling bags available from the City’s Recycling Centre
• General waste, building or household waste
• Tree trunks and stumps larger than 150mm in diameter or 1.5m in length
• Dug out lawn
• Green waste that is contaminated by household rubbish.

If your green waste doesn’t comply, it will not be collected.

Reusable recycling bags

Free large, reusable recycling bags are available from the City’s Recycling Centre for residents. They can be used for the collection of green waste or recyclable material. These materials are then shredded and composted into garden mulch. Bags can be collected and returned to the Recycling Centre during opening hours. 

Free mulch for residents

The clean green waste collected and mulched from the City’s spring and autumn green waste verge-side collections is available to residents from the Recycling Centre. City residents wishing to take mulch must load it from the pile provided at the site.
