Please attribute the following quotes to City of South Perth Mayor Sue Doherty.

In the past financial year (2017-2018) how many development applications for childcare facility have been received by the City?

The City has received 3 development applications for child day care centre in the 2017/18 financial year. All 3 have been approved, 2 by Council and 1 by the Joint Development Assessment Panel.

Was/is the City of the belief that childcare facilities were lacking within particular areas of the City? (has this been expressed in planning guideline documents).

The City’s Town Planning Scheme and Planning Policy P307 Family Day Care and Child Day Care Centres give guidance to the assessment of development applications for child care facilities in the City of South Perth. In 2011, an amendment to the City’s Town Planning Scheme introduced greater scope for child care centres to built throughout the City of South Perth, not just on major roads.
