Council endorse Connect South Stage One
Following Council’s endorsement of the Connect South Masterplan Concept Design at their April 2018 meeting, the City is preparing detailed designs for the Stage One works, which include the development of a piazza on the Mends Street foreshore and minor upgrades to Mends Street North.
As part of the endorsement for Stage One, Council resolved that the features of the area currently known as the Bosque, be supported ’in principle’ as an integral contrasting natural space for informal social interaction, and that its features be given further consideration before finalisation in the detailed design phase.
The Connect South Stage One improvements and upgrades have been designed following extensive stakeholder and community engagement and will be completed by December 2019, at a cost of $7.5 million with $2.5 million from a National Stronger Regions Fund (Round Three) grant and $5 million from the City of South Perth.
Thank you to everyone who has taken part in the Connect South engagement.
