Have your say on heritage in the City of South Perth

News Update 28 August 2017

The City is conducting a review of its Local Heritage Inventory and Heritage List.

It is a requirement under Section 45 of the Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990 that local governments prepare, maintain and review a Heritage Inventory. The Inventory identifies and celebrates buildings and places within the City that are worthy of recognition for their heritage significance.

The Inventory assists the City to:

  • Provide a cultural and historic record of the district
  • Inform the heritage policy
  • Provide information about local heritage issues that may require protection under the City's planning scheme for the area.

Places identified as being in the highest significance categories 1 and 2 on the Inventory will form the Heritage List adopted under the City’s planning scheme. The Heritage List provides statutory protection for, and is used to inform the management of these buildings and places.

To complete the survey and to nominate places you believe should be included on the Inventory, visit yoursay.southperth.wa.gov.au.

Feedback closes 4pm, Friday 22 September 2017.

Alternatively, attend one of two workshops on Wednesday 13 September 2017 or Saturday 16 September 2017 at Manning Community Hall. RSVP required.
