The City of South Perth has noted today’s ruling by the Supreme Court of Western Australia regarding a decision by the Metro-Central Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) in relation to an approval for a 29 storey building at 74 Mill Point Road.

The City of South Perth CEO, Geoff Glass said the City intends to take legal advice in considering the ruling to obtain a full understanding of its implications for its local planning processes and seek clarification where needed.

“The Supreme Court decision has an impact on discussions around Town Planning Scheme Amendment 46 of the City of South Perth, which has just completed its initial consultation phase,” he said.

“It can be anticipated that the Metro-Central Joint Development Assessment Panel will also be giving careful consideration to the decision of the Supreme Court.”

“The City of South Perth’s vision for the broader South Perth Station Precinct remains one of ensuring that any new developments create a vibrant business, employment and residential precinct in an attractive pedestrian-friendly environment.”
