Collier Park Hostel Update
Please attribute the following statement to City of South Perth Chief Executive Officer Cliff Frewing.
As part of the City's process around the closure of Collier Park Hostel, consultation has been progressing with a number of leading aged care providers with a strong presence in the South Perth area.
The City is pleased to announce that it is discussing with Baptistcare the possibility of entering into a collaborative arrangement to identify more appropriate accommodation for the residents of Collier Park through this transition process. Baptistcare is one of Western Australia's largest charitable providers and is committed to enhancing the lives of older people and in particular the communities of South Perth.
While residents and families will be provided with access to Baptistcare's diverse range of services, they will have their choice of providers and some residents are now relocating to alternate services in the area.
Baptistcare will be assisting the City during the closure process including the placement of residents. The City emphasises that the closure process and timeline and will be adapted to meet the needs of the residents and the availability of alternate accommodation.
The City would like to take the opportunity to thank the residents, families and staff for their understanding and to Baptistcare for their continued dedication to the positive outcomes of our residents.
