New play space coming to Hope Avenue Reserve

News Update 14 May 2026
Parks and Reserve works

A new play space is coming to Hope Avenue Reserve in Salter Point, with installation due to start shortly.

The existing playground will be replaced with a new play structure featuring physical and social play elements. New equipment will include a spiral slide, monkey bars, rock wall, cable rope climber, sway bridge and accessible swing seat, along with interactive features such as a shop panel, noughts and crosses, horizontal abacus, binoculars and steering wheel.

Following community feedback, a new shelter with seating will also be added to the grassed area south of the playground and basketball/netball court.

For older children, a new activity cube with a 2.5m vertical rock wall will be installed near the new shelter and seating.

Upgrades are also planned for the existing basketball/netball area, including repairing cracked concrete, repainting line markings, installing a sound-deadening basketball backboard, and a new netball pole and ring.

You can view the indicative design and find out more at Your Say South Perth.

Installation is expected to take three to four weeks, weather permitting.
