Kaya Karawara
Based at George Burnett Leisure Centre, Kaya Karawara is a fun, laid-back series of events and activities for local young people aged 12 - 18.
From cooking classes to basketball clinics, movie nights and a chilled drop-in space, there's plenty of exciting activities to get into. More events will be posted soon - watch this space!
Weekly Drop-in Space
Grab the crew and get ready - George Burnett Leisure Centre is the place to be for the next hangout.
Starting 5 February, local young people can drop into our chillout space fit with beanbags and a TV and enjoy video games, shows, board games, snacks and music. Try out a group activity like arts and craft or suggest new ones for everyone to enjoy. Not into crowds? There's also plenty of quiet spots to relax by yourself.
Our basketball court is also free to use, with Perth Redbacks coaches here to organise drills, build skills, and coordinate pick-up games and mini-matches. All skill levels are welcome.
Youth workers from Kids First Australia will also be there, providing a friendly presence for young people to chat with and offering support or referrals if needed.
