Footpath replacement - Monk Avenue and Monk Street

Footpath replacement works will soon take place on Monk Avenue and Monk Street, Kensington, as part of the City’s 2025/26 Slab Replacement Program. These works will be confined to the street verge and will include removing old concrete slabs and constructing a new 1.5m-wide in-situ concrete footpath.

The City will be undertaking the following works:

Location: Monk Avenue between Campbell Street and Monk Street, and Monk Street between Monk Avenue and Hensman Street, Kensington (see map below)

Date: Week commencing Monday 23 February 2026

Duration: Approximately four weeks, Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm (weather permitting). Please note that the works may not be carried out every day during this period.

The City makes every effort to minimise the disruption caused by the works. Local residents will be notified by letter, and updates will also be available on the City’s website.
