Keep in mind these dates for when to make your submission, pay exhibition fees, and drop off and pick up artwork.

• Call for entries open: Friday 31 July
• Entries close: 5pm Monday 24 August
• Applicants and finalists notified: Wednesday 2 September
• Finalist exhibition fee due: Friday 11 September
• Finalist artwork drop off period: Friday 2 October 8.30am - 5.30pm
• Exhibition Launch and Award Presentation: Thursday 8 October 6.30 - 8pm (invited finalists and guests only)
• Arts Exhibition open: Friday 9 October - Saturday 17 October, 10am - 4pm
• Artwork collection: Monday 19 October 8:30am - 5:30pm

Award categories

Emerging Artist Award has a prize pool of over $15,000. This includes a Highly Commended of $200 from the City of South Perth to each category except Emerging Artist and People’s Choice Award.

Emerging Artist Award | Sponsored by Rosalin Sadler | $5,000

Open to all Artists. Major prize award for the most outstanding Artwork. The winner also receives an Exhibition Opportunity at Heritage House, courtesy of South Perth Historical Society. 

Local Theme Award | Sponsored by Karalee on Preston | $1,000

Open to Artists whose Artwork depicts the City of South Perth environment, lifestyle, personalities or landmarks.

Resident Award | Sponsored by Geoff Baker MLA | $1,000

Open to Artists who live in the City of South Perth.

Secondary School Artist Award | Sponsored by Preston Street IGA | $1,000

Open to Artists aged 12 to 17 years of age when entries close.

Young Artist Award | Sponsored by City of South Perth | $1,000

Open to Artists between 18 and 25 years of age when entries close. 

First Nations Artist Award | Sponsored by John Curtin Gallery | $1,000

Open to First Nations Artists. 

Painting Award | Sponsored by White Frame | $1,000

Open to Artists whose Artwork is painted in oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastels and two-dimensional (2D) mixed media works on canvas or board. 

Sculpture/Textiles Award | Sponsored by Liquor Barons on Angelo | $1,000

Open to Artists whose Artwork is three-dimensional (3D) or creative textile-based.

Works on Paper Award | Sponsored by Allan Herbert Sadler | $1,000

Open to Artists whose Artwork includes prints, photography, drawings, collage and two-dimensional (2D) mixed-media works on paper. 

People’s Choice Award | Sponsored by SOCO Realty | $1,000

Awarded to the Artist whose Artwork receives the most public votes during the Exhibition.
