Changing Places facilities

Public accessible toilet block

Changing Places toilets are larger and more specialised than standard accessible toilets, providing people with disability and high support needs access to safe, private and fully equipped bathroom facilities.

South Perth Foreshore

The City has opened a new Changing Places facility at the South Perth Foreshore. The precinct includes:

  • Three unisex toilets
  • Two ambulant toilets
  • One unisex accessible toilet [UAT] with a baby change table
  • A Changing Places toilet featuring an adjustable adult change table, ceiling‑mounted hoist, centrally located toilet with privacy screen, and sufficient space for a user, two carers and a wheelchair

These facilities play an important role in supporting people with disability and their carers, enabling greater participation in community life and improved access to the City’s beautiful spaces and active places.

The Changing Places Facility can be accessed with a Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK). If you do not have an MLAK, one can be borrowed from the George Burnett Leisure Centre in Karawara for a refundable fee.

Only the Changing Places toilet requires an MLAK. All other toilets are open to the public.

The Changing Places facility was made possible through combined funding from the City of South Perth, Department of Communities and the Australian Government.
