The City of South Perth has secured State Government funding to improve road safety, including $127,567 as part of the State Black Spot Program, and $148,395 as part of the Low-Cost Urban Road Safety Program.

These programs apply cost effective road safety measures to local intersections and roads with the aim of improving visibility and reducing the risk of serious road accidents.

Raised road safety platforms will be installed at intersections in Como between Mary and Ednah streets, Axford and Eleanor streets, and in South Perth between Mill Point Road and Mill Point Close.

Mayor Greg Milner said the City was thrilled to secure this funding to support its commitment to enhancing community safety and accessibility through targeted road safety and rehabilitation projects.

“This upgrade will assist in creating a safer environment for all road users and is just one of a number of key capital works projects aimed at ensuring our public spaces are safe and sustainable so they can be enjoyed for many years to come,” Mayor Milner said.
