City opens first public toilet incorporating a Changing Places facility
The City of South Perth has officially opened its first public toilet incorporating a Changing Places facility at Sir James Mitchell Park (Coode Street end) as part of its ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusion for all.
Temporary solar lighting installed at Sir James Mitchell Park
The City has installed temporary solar-powered lighting along the foreshore at Sir James Mitchell Park following persistent vandalism of the existing bollard lights.
New riverside seating installed at Sir James Mitchell Park
Five new benches have been installed along the foreshore at Sir James Mitchell Park.
Stage two works begin on Coode Street accessible toilet
Stage two works are underway on the new Changing Places accessible public toilet at the Coode Street Foreshore. The project includes construction of the facility, internal fit-out and landscaping, with temporary fencing and signage now in place around the site.
Coode Street foreshore reopens following emergency repairs
Emergency repairs were carried out at the Coode Street riverbank foreshore near the Boatshed Restaurant on Friday 25 July 2025, after heavy rainfall and overland runoff caused significant erosion.
