Advocare will be hosting an information session to support community.
Join us for an informative session to help older adults better understand their rights, access aged care services, and navigate available support. Learn about the role of advocacy, how Advocare can assist, the My Aged Care registration process, and the services available to help you remain informed, independent and supported.
The session will also explore the Charter of Aged Care Rights, quality standards, common challenges experienced by older people, and practical ways advocacy can help you resolve concerns and access the support you need.
Elder Abuse Awareness Session
This important session will provide information on recognising, responding to and preventing elder abuse. Older adults will learn about risk factors, support services, protective measures, and their rights when seeking assistance.
Topics include Enduring Power of Attorney, Enduring Power of Guardianship, accessing support through relevant agencies, and practical strategies to help safeguard wellbeing, dignity and independence. Through real-life examples and case studies, participants will gain valuable knowledge to help make informed decisions and access support when needed.
Free coffee available
A coffee van has been catered during between 11am - 1pm. Enjoy a complimentary coffee while meeting new people, catching up with friends, and learning about services, supports and practical wellbeing strategies for older adults.
