2026 Have Your Say Council Plan

The City of South Perth has listened to what’s important to our community and is now inviting residents to review its draft Council Plan 2027-2037 to help shape the City’s direction for the next 10 years.

Have Your Say on the Draft Council Plan

Our community shared what mattered most to them through the 2025 Community Scorecard Survey. We've used that feedback to develop the draft Plan which will become the key strategic document to guide the City's priorities, projects and decision-making into the future.

Now we're asking our community to check that the draft Plan reflects their feedback and ideas.

Mayor Greg Milner said the Plan would provide a roadmap for Council to work towards the community’s aspirations and priorities, while making responsible and sustainable decisions – for now and for the future.

“From our parks and public spaces to community safety, environmental sustainability and the connections between our neighbourhoods, this Plan sets out the areas we need to focus on to keep the City of South Perth a great place to live, work and play,” Mayor Milner said.

"This Plan will help guide the decisions we make, the projects we prioritise and the services we deliver over the next decade. Before it's finalised, we want to know whether we've got it right and captured your ideas for the future of our community.

“I encourage everyone who lives, works or spends time in our City to take a look and have their say online or at one of our drop-in sessions."

Key priorities reflected in the draft Plan include community safety, parks and open spaces, climate action, environmental sustainability, walking and cycling connections, community events and everyday amenity services.

It is built around five key pillars that will help deliver our vision of a City of active places and beautiful spaces:

  • Community
  • Economy
  • Climate and Environment
  • Connected Places and Spaces, and
  • Leadership and Governance.

These pillars are supported by strategic objectives and priorities, and measures of success to help deliver long-term benefits for the community. Required as part of the Local Government Act reforms, the Council Plan will replace the existing Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan.

Following community feedback, the Plan will be presented to Council for final adoption. Once adopted, it will be regularly monitored, reviewed and reported to ensure it remains responsive to community needs and changing circumstances.
