New double safety gates at our enclosed dog parks

News Update 21 October 2026

Our enclosed dog parks at Comer and Olives reserves now have an added layer of safety, with double gates installed at all seven entries into the parks.

They were added in response to community feedback about reducing the risk of dogs getting out when people are entering or leaving the dog parks.

The improvements complement the dedicated dog spaces at both reserves. Comer Reserve features an enclosed park specifically for small dogs, while Olives Reserve provides an enclosed space for dogs of all sizes, including agility equipment for exercise and play.

While the new double-gate entrances provide an extra safety measure, they don’t replace the need for responsible supervision. Dog owners are reminded that their dogs must always be under effective control and supervision, including when using enclosed off-lead areas.

Outside designated off-lead areas, dogs must also be kept on a lead.
