Community rangers now equipped with body cams

News Update 26 August 2026

The City of South Perth’s community rangers are incorporating the latest technology into their daily duties, with the addition of body-worn cameras

The introduction of the next-gen cameras will help to support safer interactions and greater transparency. The footage from the rangers’ bodycams will also promote the City of South Perth’s key values of accountability and responsibility during their interactions within the community.

Our community rangers provide a range of valuable services, including animal control and management, parking patrol and traffic and enforcement, protecting public infrastructure and assets and ensuring community safety for everyone who lives, works, and visits the City of South Perth.

There will be protocols in place to ensure that members of the public are made aware that they may be recorded. Cameras must be turned off on private property if requested.

Need Ranger support? Our rangers can be contacted on 08 9474 0777.
