Dogs prohibited area extended along Canning River Foreshore
The City of Canning has joined the City of South Perth in prohibiting dogs along parts of the Canning River foreshore to provide greater protection for flora and fauna.
Dogs are no longer permitted from the foreshore area to the west and south of the dual-use pathway at Centennary Park Westin Wilson, following community consultation by the City of Canning. The adjoining section of Canning River is also out of bounds for dogs.
Dogs are already prohibited from the adjoining Waterford foreshore within the City of South Perth. The City of Canning’s decision aims to provide consistent rules and environmental protection across the local government boundary.
