Drainage works - Mends Street, South Perth

The City will soon begin drainage maintenance works at seven locations along Mends Street, between Mill Point Road and South Perth Esplanade, to improve the performance and serviceability of the existing drainage network.

Location: Mends Street between Mill Point Road and South Perth Esplanade, South Perth

Start date:  Week commencing Monday 10 August 2026

Duration: Approximately 10 days (weather permitting)

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm. Works may not be carried out every day during this period.

The project includes temporarily lifting sections of footpath paving to access drainage pits, carrying out minor welding repairs to drainage pit lids, and cleaning the drainage system using a specialised vacuum truck. All disturbed paving and kerbing will be reinstated once works are complete.

Minor disruptions are expected during the works, including temporary parking bay closures and intermittent pedestrian detours.

The City and its contractor will take all reasonable steps to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and visitors. Nearby properties will be notified by letter, and updates will be available on the City's website.
