Footpath replacement program – Monk Street in Kensington

Footpath replacement works will soon commence on Monk Street in Kensington as part of the City’s 2026/27 Slab Replacement Program.

These works will be confined to the street verge and will involve the removal of existing concrete slabs and construction of a new 1.5-metre-wide in situ concrete footpath.

The City will be undertaking the works as follows:

Location: Monk Street between Mabel Street & Hensman Street, Kensington

Date: Week commencing Monday, 27 July 2026

Duration: Approximately four weeks, weather permitting. Works will generally be undertaken Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm. Please note, works may not occur every day during this period.

The City will aim to minimise disruption. Local residents will receive a letter, and updates will also be available on the City’s website.
