Artist Amber Bennison the people's choice for second year

Salter Point local Amber Bennison has taken out the SOCO Realty People's Choice Award for the second year in a row at this year's Emerging Artist 2024.

Her work titled 'More Laughter at McDougall Park' was a crowd-pleaser during the exhibition, receiving the highest number of votes from the public. Amber was also awarded the People's Choice in 2023 for her work titled 'Ningaloo Turtle'.

In addition to a $750 cash prize provided by generous sponsor Soco Realty, the artwork will be displayed in large format alongside past winners in the underground carpark at Coles on Angelo Street, South Perth.

The Emerging Artist Award is an annual program providing a unique opportunity for young (from secondary school age up until 25 years) and older emerging (at the beginning of their professional creative careers) artists to exhibit their work in a public exhibition and to compete with peers for prizes.
