Dôme Café swings open its doors in Manning

News Update 22 November 2024

The highly anticipated Dôme Café in Manning has officially opened its doors and is now serving up its popular brews to excited residents and visitors.

Patrons stopping by for a coffee or meal will notice the venue’s nod to its history as a cherished community landmark, having served as the Manning Library from 1964 until 2017. The library has since relocated to Manning Community Centre.

Accents of the past have been cleverly weaved into the building’s architecture and Dôme’s signature interior design, including nostalgic black-and-white wallpaper depicting its former life as a library.

External restoration works have reinstated the building’s original facade as another respectful nod to its history.

Dôme Café has activated the precinct and will provide a perfect meeting spot for those who work up a sweat on the Canning Bridge to Curtin University Bike Link and the Manning Bike Track when it opens to the public early next year.

The redevelopment of the old Manning library aligns with the City’s commitment to restoring assets.
