Como welcomes Sounds of Bunuru this weekend
This weekend's Sounds of Bunuru is set to enchant and delight Como residents and visitors alike.
Headliner and 'Like a Version' sensation, Jem Cassar-Daley, promises to take Saturday's audience on an indie-pop journey like no other. Jem is a proud Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung woman who comes from a long line of storytellers, many of whom still live in that part of northern New South Wales. In a 2022 interview Jem told Triple J radio, "that side of my family I’m very connected to. It’s very strong, especially my matrilineal line."
Joining the line-up will be seven-time Indigenous Act of the Year award winners, Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, and sensational The Voice Australia finalist, Bojesse Pigram.
Music is not the only attraction at Sounds of Bunuru. Young local artisans, in collaboration with the South Perth Youth Network (SPYN), will be hosting a Makers Market on site, so visitors can stock up on unique, handmade creations.
Best of all, Sounds of Bunuru is free and accessible. Plan your trip by visiting the City's dedicated Facebook event.
