Off Road Vehicles
Trail bikes and other off-road vehicles are not permitted to be used on public land within the City of South Perth. There is no off-road vehicle area located within the City of South Perth.
The irresponsible use of trail bikes is an issue of public safety and can be a nuisance to residents and landowners. Trail bikes can also have a significant damaging effect on the local environment therefore trail bikes and off-road vehicles should only be used in a safe and responsible law-abiding manner.
Fines apply for vehicles being used in non-permitted areas.
If you see or know of a person riding illegally, please call the police on 131 444 and the Rangers team on 9474 0777.
Information to help catch and prosecute illegal off-road vehicle riders includes:
- vehicle description - make, primary colour, secondary colour and any other distinguishing marks (e.g. stickers, number on bike, seat colour); and
- rider description - name and address if known, helmet colour, face description, shirt colour, trouser colour, boot/shoe colour.
Off Road Locations
Under the Control of Vehicles (Off-road Areas) Act 1978, all off-road vehicles used in areas other than private land with consent of the owner, must be registered.
